WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

As you can see by the image on the left, Jeff with my digital camera is a dangerous thing. Sorry Jeff, your self portrait you left on the camera made it's way to the blog.

The weekend was great. We played the Ben Kramer Memorial Saturday and Sunday. Lots of fun. Unfortunately my team did not place. We played well, but when the putts don't drop, they just don't drop!!! What's a girl to do?! CHIP DEB!!!!!
But I enjoyed myself. Thanks Ryba, thanks Jerry. There's always next year. OY!
Hope everyone else had a good weekend. The weather was warm, but tolerable.
Hope it keeps up.

On to the next event. Jeff's 2nd Annual Football bash. Saturday August 29th. It will be a blast!!!
Get yourself signed up. Jeff, Josh, Jake and the crew have lots of surprises for us.
(Sometimes I'm stepping in some of Jakes surprises! But better his than the geese! )
You Rock Jake!!!!! Keep up the good work.

Alrighty then, gotta get back to work. Senior Open this Wednesday. Teams need to be drawn and paperwork awaits. See you soon.

TWITTER?!

Who would of thought that I would be using words like "blog" and "Twitter" and "Facebook"?
Only in America. I thought I was up to date when I started this blog 3 years ago, but the times are a changing. Way too fast in my opinion! (I sound like an old lady. Oh wait! I am old!) Oops!
Anyway, since I am always looking for a way to promote St. Bernard Golf Club (inexpensively), I have joined the world of Twittering?! Twitter? Twit? Oy! I'm not quite sure what I'm doing yet, but I promise I will figure it out. It seems to me it's just like this blog, but only instant messaging. So I think for me, it will be a good way to let people know whats going on here on a daily basis, and maybe introduce some new people to St. Bernard Golf Club. It's worth a shot!
My user name on http://www.twitter.com/ is stbgolfmama. Check it out when you get a chance, and maybe sign up for twitter (it's free) and twit along with me! Ha!

Don't forget the Kramer Memorial coming up. August 15th and 16th. Three person Pick your own team, 45 minimum handicap between the three. It's a great weekend of golf and good friends competing for the championship. I can't wait!!
The next event after that is Jeff's 2nd annual football bash. Jeff and Josh have a lot surprises planned. I keep asking him what he is doing, and he just smiles and keeps working. I'll get it out of you Jeff!!!! Your easy, I have some steak left over from dinner. Oh wait, that's for Jake! Sorry!

Back to work! See you all soon!

EMOTIONAL OPEN!?

Though I did not get to see much of the open all weekend because of work, I did catch the very emotional last day Sunday, and the playoff. Ouch! How sad! A victory brought home by Watson would have been a great boost to many aging/ailing golfers. Instead this open will go down as one of the saddest moments in sports. Oh well, Life goes on...

On the other hand, our British Open inspired Scramble was a success. We had 40 golfers, plenty of cold Michelob amber Bach draft, Fish and Chips and of course prizes. We even had cereal!?
"Hey Judi, whats with the cereal on the counter?" "The British Open Deb, "CHEERIOS!"
She's a Nut!!!! Everyone seemed to have a good time. Next up, Ben Kramer Memorial, then Jeff's 2nd Annual Football bash. I'm looking forward to both!!!!

The week ahead looks good weather wise. I hope it continues. I sure would like to get out and work on my game. I know I won't be playing over the weekend. Outings both days. Oh well Deb, work comes before golf. I gotta work on that!!!!! Golf before work? Sounds reasonable!

Not much else to report for now. I will catch up with you later. Have a great week!!!

*On a personal note: Congratulations to my Father Ron. Dad was one of the first inductees into the Cloverleaf race track hall of fame this Friday. I'm very proud of you Dad for many reasons, and this is just one more for me to add to my memories. Love you!*

NICE WEATHER CONTINUES........

I can't complain about the weather lately. Just right in my opinion. Not hot, not cold, just right papa bear!! Goldie locks, I am not!!!!
Now if the weather can hold out for all the club events and outings coming up in next couple of months. (am I asking too much?) Nah!!!
First up, The PGA bash this Sunday the 19th. Inspired by the British Open this weekend, we are going to play a Scramble and have some British twists on things. Should be a fun day. Join in the fun!
The weekend of the 25th is booked. Saturday I will host an outing of 120 plus golfers. Shotgun at 9:00am and then Sunday the Musketeers will host their annual outing with the first tee time at 10:00 am. I think that should keep me busy for a little while. Oy!!
Then we are headed into August. Wow, hard too believe. August already!?
With August brings the Annual Ben Kramer memorial. Time to start thinking about putting your team together. 3 Person scramble, 45 minimum handicap, with only one player under a 12.
Thing about it!!!

I would like to take a moment to thank all of the members and all the different leagues for their continued support of St. Bernard Golf Club. Not only do you support St. B, you support each other through good times and bad, and help the community's you live in. One example being the Casual Tees golf league hosted another rally for a cure this year, and were able to raise $800.00 for the cure. Way too go Ladies, YOU ROCK!!! Thank you "5-5-5', "Prime Timers", Monday Night Teezers, Tee Timers, Tuesday Night Men's League, Kiwanis, Casual Tees, and the Friday Night Couples. Thank you also you Thursday night guys, you know who you are. Your all Crazy!! (and I love It!)

Time for the broad to get back to work. No rest for the wicked. (no wonder I'm always tired!?)
See you all soon.

JULY?!

I can't believe Wednesday it will be July! Where did the time go? Before you know it.......(no!!! don't say it Deb!) Anyway, with July comes the 4th of July, and the annual Firecracker open here at St. Bernard. Two person scramble, pick your own team, minimum 24 handicap between the two. This tournament has a long history behind it. Plenty of war stories come with the tournament, along with some new traditions and stories to be established. One of which I heard (but did not witness) was Mike Mann making so many side bets, (and losing!) he had to go to the bank in a box and get more cash. To pay the bets off, he stopped and found a cardboard box from some kind of appliance, proceeded to make it look like a bank teller window and paid his debts through the drive up window. That had to be a sight. Do you think he learned a lesson? I hope so, he is my partner this year in the Firecracker! Your on your own with bets Mike!!!!!

All is quite this morning. I'm just sitting here waiting for Judi to get in and start the bacon.
That is about the time that Jake starts to wander up here toward the clubhouse. The dog is no dummy! He knows what broad to hang around. The tall brunette with the big heart! (SUCKER)
What can I say? I have a weakness for short gray haired boys who chase geese! Keep up the good work Jake.

Another outing this morning. The Lady Elks will descend on us about 10:00am. A good group of ladies (and a few of the male elks) will play golf and enjoy food and spirits at the Pavilion.
Thank you ladies for you continued support!

Ok, Foutz just pulled in. Time for me to get moving. Enjoy your Sunday everyone. See you soon.

JAKE IS THE MAN!!!

I could not have asked for a better dog than him. He is a keeper!! Although he has a few strange habits. For instance, he likes to chase the lawn mowers and bite at the tires! Whats with that?!
As Donna the Dog Whisper said, KNOCK IT OFF BUDDY!! And as you can see in the picture, he has found a few strange hiding places so we can't find him when its time for bed. Forget wheres Waldo? Wheres Jake? Tooooo cute!! Love you Jake, keep up the good work.

Sunday was a success. The National Car Mart/B-day bash had a great turn out. 80 golfers total.
The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. Good golf, good food, good friends. What else is there? (how about one of these outings a week?)

Busy week ahead for us here. Tomorrow is the Richfield Chamber of Commerce outing, Thursday is Rally for the cure, Saturday is the Ted Kruse Memorial. I'm getting tired just thinking of it. Linda has so many notes laying around it looks like a post-it factory exploded.
Hang in there Linda. We will get through it. We always do!!

It's time to start thinking about getting your Firecracker team together. July 4th. Two person scramble, minimum 24 handi-cap between the two. Always a good time. Sign up sheet is in the Clubhouse.

Ok, time to get back to work. Lots to do. Have a great week. See you soon

I KNOW, I KNOW!!!

Sorry, but not much happening except RAIN! Is it June 1st or April 1st? I just hung up with Linda and told her to stay home today. My league is supposed to play this morning but it doesn't look good. But since I gave Linda the day off, that pretty much guarantees that the day will get busy. Flip them burgers DEB!! OY! Thanks alright, I welcome the challenge. (and the business)

Like I said, not much to report. Just getting ready for the up coming events. First up, Pa John-Poje-Pniewski National Car Mart B-day Bash. June the 14th. Always a good time. Lots of prizes, food and surprises. Call the clubhouse for more info.
We have some outings coming up in June. I'm going to need some help. Yo Joe, Yo Zupanc, your on deck! You guys ROCK! Thanks again.

The course is in beautiful condition. Jeff and the guys are doing a fantastic job as usual.
Keep up the good work guys.
We have another new addition to the staff at St. Bernard. His name is Jake.
He's has salt and pepper hair, a little short, good looking, hard working and loves the outdoors. His hobbies include bird watching, running. He likes his belly and ears rubbed and enjoys a good milk bone. Figure it out? Jake's the goose chaser!! And he is doing a good job. So when you see him running around, give him a "atta boy!!"

Ok, time for me to get some work done. These days are made for getting projects done that we have not had time for. Or maybe I'll just read a book. We shall see.
Stay dry. Hope to see you soon.
Don't forget the 19th hole is always open.

THAT WAS FUN!!!!!!

The Member/Guest day that is! The day went well, and everyone seemed to have fun. The weather cooperated, we (they) hit the links, lots of food and spirits were consumed. What more can you ask for? (maybe a smoke for me!? Stop it Deb!) Sorry, old habit!!
The course looked great!! Jeff, you and your staff ROCK!!! Linda and Therese managed the kitchen and bar with their usual efficiency. Wally, thanks again for all of your help with the scoring. What would I do without ya!? So, all in all, a good day.
Onward!!! OY!

The next event, National car mart/PA John/Poje/Pniewski B-day Bash. June 14th. Always a good turn out for this event. Good prizes, food and fun. The sign up sheet is in the Club house. Check it out!

As I sit here on the porch (in my new lounge area) with a Michelob light and look out over the course, again I am reminded of how lucky I/We are to have this beautiful view.
With this being Memorial day weekend, I find it even more appropriate to appreciate what we have and how we have come to achieve it. Without the effort of our armed forces we would not be where we are now. For all of the veterans and their families that have sacrificed for our freedom, I say THANK YOU!!

Time for me to head home. Tomorrow is another early day.
I'll post the photos in the morning, and maybe have some more to report. (Oh no Deb!, shut up!)
See ya soon!!!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

For all you hard working Mom's out there, this day is for you. Enjoy!! MOM'S ROCK!!
Looks like the weather should be good for whatever event you have planned. (hope some of the day includes golf)
I'm sitting here watching the sunrise. It truly is a beautiful view. Sometimes I loose sight of how pretty it is here. I guess I just get caught up in the everyday projects around here, but there is always someone who comes here for the first time and says WOW! Like Judi, the new addition to the St. Bernard Staff. (welcome Judi!) She stopped out to talk about working here, and commented on how pretty the view is. That wakes me up!
Today is her first day at the club. She should be in shortly, and then the air will be filled with the aroma of bacon. I think that alone brings in the customers. Bacon? Oh yeah, 18 and a cart please!!
Just a reminder: This year we are having what I hope will become an annual event at St. B.
The 23rd of May we are having a Member/Guest Scramble. Free green fees for guests, food, beer, water, prizes and maybe a few surprises. Sign up sheet is in the Club house. Think about someone you know that might enjoy the camaraderie and golf experience at St. Bernard Golf Club. This is a great way to promote your Golf Club, and don't forget you receive $25.00
St. Bernard dollars for every new member you bring in.

Ok, back to work! Don just walked in. Time to get the 5-5-5 started.
Have a great day! See you soon!

HELP WANTED!

Really, If anyone knows of someone looking for work, I have opening for Sunday/Holiday mornings here in the clubhouse. Someone out there needs some extra money I'm sure. If I didn't have some much to do I would take the Job! Oh, wait a minute, I am doing the job. HELP!

Anyway, Our first Annual M.L.B. outing yesterday was a home run. (pardon the pun).
We had 36 golfers, the weather was beautiful. We had breakfast, played a "schramble", then pigged out on Peanuts, Hot dogs, Cracker jacks and Big league Chew! And of course Beer!!
I think everyone had a good time. I know I did! On to the next event, Member Guest Day.
Saturday May 23rd.

It sure is a pretty morning out there. Golfers are starting to trickle in. Not a big rush though?!
Only 10 of the 5-5-5. I don't know? Maybe everyone needs to get yard work done. I know I do!!
But, it's just going to have to wait. Work, then Golf, then yard work. In that order! Well, maybe GOLF then work. Oh wait, my work is golf, and golf is my work? Something like that.

It's only April and already we have had TWO members Ace the #1 hole here at St. Bernard.
Jim Ski on Friday the 24th, and John Zupanc, just this morning. Congratulations guys!!!
Time to get your dollar back in the Insurance. You never know when the ball will drop!!!

Ok, things a picking up. Gotta run. See ya soon!!
(p.s. I want a cigarette!)

BACK ON TRACK!!!

Sorry! I got side tracked around here for a while. Go figure!! For those of you who have not heard or seen me for a couple of weeks, Golfmama is attempting to quit smoking!!! Yes, hell has froze over, pigs are flying, and the universe is tilting. I can't believe it myself. But, it's time. For those of you who have been through it, you understand. For those who don't, let me apologize now for anything I might say of do out of pure nicotine withdraw. Ok, onward!!!!

Whats with the, get a couple of nice days, then three to four days of rain?! Make up my mind!!
At least the weekends have be somewhat ok. I keep forgetting its only April and anything can happen in April in Cleveland. (Don't say the "s" word Deb!)

It's sure looks like it wants to rain out there right now, but so far it's holding off. We have a few golfers out there now trying to get their round in before the wet stuff starts. I think they have a couple of hours to get it in. You go guys!!!!!!!!
The end of the week looks great weather wise. Just in time for our 1st annual M.L.B. golf tournament. This Saturday April 25th at 9:00 am. Should be a blast!! Come on and sign up!
We have several other theme tournaments scheduled for this year. Watch for the sign up sheets in the clubhouse. Come join the fun!!

Not much else to report right now. All is quite on the home front. (for now!) Enjoy it while it lasts Deb!!!!! See ya soon! (don't forget the 19th hole!)

CHILLY CHILI OPEN!!

Well, we got the first event of the year in without a hitch. A wee bit brisk, but otherwise everything was good. The Chili open had 36 golfers who braved the cloudy cool weather for 9 holes, then came in and sampled the 9 different chili entries. A good day.

We have frost again this morning here. But the day looks to be warm and sunny. I think I might sneak out and play this morning. The 5-5-5 are rolling in now, so I will finish this post later.
Signing off for now.

Ok, I'm back. Sorry about the interruption. I should have stayed in here and finished my blog.
What a bad round of golf!!!!! Oh well, at least I got out. Good thing too, looks like we are going to get some snow today. OY! Just when things were looking up.
But, the end of the week looks like it will warm up. Just in time for Easter, the Tribe opener, and the Masters! I love Masters week at the golf course. Everyone gets pumped up for golf.

Sunday was not a good day for animals at St. Bernard. First, one of Jeff's cat's had to be put to sleep. Sorry Jeff.
But this next one you will not believe. Get yourself to hole #4, Golfer tees off, you know the cement barrier in front of the green?, sounds like the ball hits that. So they go over to the green to start looking for the golf ball, turns out it hit a TURTLE on the back, and the ball is embedded half way into it's shell!!?? (do you get relief? wait a little Ryba, if he crawls up on the green, you get the pin shot!) Never saw anything like that in my life. I have the pictures to prove it.
Only at St. Bernard! Jeff got the ball out and put him back in the lake, hope he makes it.

Well, I guess I'll go upstairs and start cleaning up my office. It's time to move the office back upstairs. This is a sure sign of spring. See you soon.

I'M STILL HERE!

Someone told me yesterday that I am neglecting my blog!? (people in glass blogs should not throw blogs) But really, I guess I have been preoccupied. We have been busy here getting ready for the official start of the season. We have had some play the last couple of weeks. It's been nice to see your smiling faces.

Jeff said that they are a couple of weeks ahead of schedule due to the nice weather. Jeff and Josh have mowed the greens and fairways, and with Don's help, they are tackling the leaves left from the winter. It feels good to be ahead of the game for once. Although, there is still a lot more work to be done.
I have scheduled for the roof, window, cash register, handicap computer and my car to be fixed.
Oy! With Eva's help, we have the kitchen and club house cleaned up and ready.
It's time to make contact with Linda, Alex, Donna, Darlene, Shannon, Sarah and Therese to decide when they will officially start back to work. (soon I hope!) I know Donna will be here Monday the 30th. The Monday night teezers are having their league meeting that night. (I got your Mikes Lemonade Light in stock Ladies!) You girls Rock!!!
Then Linda should be in shortly after that to see what we need to make the chili for the CHILI OPEN, Saturday April 4th. Sign up sheet is in the clubhouse, or just show up about 9:30 and check in. See you then, if not before.

Another project on the agenda is coming up Thursday April 2nd . Wally and I are going for our 4th Annual golf show at Quaker Steak and Lube in Valley View at 6:00pm. Along with other area golf courses, we set up a booth and show case our Golf Club. We get a Bucket of chicken wings and a pitcher of beer just for showing up! What more can a girl ask for? (don't answer that) The show offers many give aways for customers, including rounds of golf, golf balls and gift certificates. Hope you can stop by and say hello. (5935 Canal Road).

Other than that, Not much else to report. Time to watch the weather, and do the "hold off the March/April snow dance". Oops, sorry for that visual. See ya soon!!!

GOOD DAY SUNSHINE!!!

What is that big yellow ball is the sky?! Could it be the sun? It's been so long I've forgotten. It looks nice out there, but there's still a nip in the air. Just ask Jeff and Josh, poor guys have been out there all day trying to pump out #4 lake. Seems we have a block in the over flow and the lake is overflowing. Oy! Always something. But I'm sure they will get the job done as usual. Thanks Guys!!!
This weekend looks promising. Sunny and 50 degrees. This should bring out some die hard golfers I'm sure. I think I might even be able to get out and knock the cob webs of my game. (I hope!)
I'm here at the club awaiting the arrival of my friends from Buffalo, Marc, Kim and Uncle Mahoney (the dog). I can't wait. Michael and Herman and Dan Dickey are out braving the cold and working on their games. A little too cold for me! Eva is here helping me clean up the kitchen and the club house, getting ready for the first official event at St. B, the CHILI OPEN April 4th.
3 more weeks, and the season officially starts! Get those clubs out of storage and in your trunk, and set the cruise control to 5364 W. Streetsboro Rd.
Time for me to get back to work. I will post again before the Chili Open. See you soon.
Remember, the 19th hole is still open!!!!

EIGHT MORE DAYS....

Then we can say goodbye to February and hello March. Ahhh... what a wonderful month.
St. Patrick's Day, the promise of spring around the corner, day light saving time, everything screams GREEN. Which happens to be my favorite color. Thing about it, Money is green, Golf courses are green, green peace, green eggs and ham-sam I am.

We are still working at the club to get things ready for all of you. Even though it seems so far away, soon the sound of club heads striking the golf ball will ring through Richfield. Nothing quite like that sound. Kind of like the sound of a grandfather clock chiming on the hour. (or in Mr. Zupanc case, the sound of a tin can hitting the ball) It's that type of driver of his. What ever it is, it works for him. Keep up the good work John!

Jeff and Josh have been out on the course in between the snow storms picking up sticks and debris, and observing what needs to been done to open the season. Lot's to do, but they are all fired up, and ready to rock!! Josh even played 36 holes Monday, dodging snow, and playing through the snow. You rock Josh!! (or your off your rocker) Ha! Just kidding buddy.

A few friends have popped in to say hello and check in. Everyone is optimistic about the up coming season. Even with the tough economic times, I still believe that St. Bernard G.C., and golf in general, is still one of the best recreational investments you can make. Hope you agree.

We look forward too seeing all of your smiling faces soon. Plenty of Par's and Birdies out there just waiting for you!! See you soon!!

Personal note:
Hugs and Kisses Lucy, we love you!!

5 MINUTES TO WHINE!

That's all I'm aloud! So here I go. What a week! The roof here is leaking again, I need a umbrella to walk around. The refrigerator went on the fritz again, just got done throwing everything out.
The pick up truck broke down, my car needs (quote my service advisor) major surgery, I need major dental work and my brother was in a major car accident. Oy! In the interest of avoiding a major break down, I'm venting.
My brother is ok, majorly sore, but ok. Thank god!
So, I call up a old friend to look at the roof, Tommy will be here tomorrow to shovel the snow off the roof and see what he can do for us. Thanks Tommy!
I take my car in and the parts on national back order, and when they do come in, it will be a week to get it fix. Under warranty (thank god), so that's that.
Started on my dental work. I asked the doctor to knock me out, I can use a nap. No such luck, Novocaine Deb!
So I call in the "Old Man" (as he calls himself) Hambone to look at the fridge. (He was here in 20 minutes) What would I do without him? I don't want to find out! So I start to explain that I went to shut down the Ice maker to try to save on energy, and he explains the the thermostat that controls the compressor on the fridge is plugged into the same breaker that the Ice maker is on. OY! Boy am I idiot!! (good news, fridge not broke)
What next? I'll tell whats next, MICHELOB TIME! Speaking of which, today is my late Michelob's Birthday, which just happens to be on the same day as my Dad's Birthday.
Happy Birthday Dad, I love you!
Time for me to get out of here, regroup over the weekend, and come out fighting!!
Five minutes up!
I realize that a lot of people out there have a lot worse problems than ours, but sometimes we all need to whine. Thanks for listening.
Hope you are all well, and look forward to seeing you in the spring!
Next post, Nothing but good news. Happy Valentines Day everyone!

ENOUGH ALREADY!

Turn off the snow please! Is it just me, or is this winter the longest on record? I feel like I live in Buffalo or something (no offense K.K., Kimmer and Marc). I got up this morning, looked out the window and went back to bed!! (sometimes this job has it's good points) I figured what ever needed done could wait, besides I knew Dad would brave the roads and be there. Nothing scares him. Also, Jeff just called to let me know him and Josh went in and plowed the lot so we can get in and out without problem. How lucky am I to have such good friends and family?! Jeff and Josh are taking a couple of days off to go to Jeff's cabin in Michigan. Enjoy you guys, you have earned it. Be careful, have fun!!!

I called Linda yesterday to say hello, and find out how her winter was going. She said she was just going to call me that same day, we have been friends so long, we have starting thinking alike.
Scary sometimes! (insert Twilight zone music here)...... Anyway, everything is fine with her. She thinks the winter is going by fast!? That's our Linda, always happy! She is spending time with that beautiful grandbaby Amy! A lot of work, but she loves it!! Love you Linda! I need to get in touch with the rest of the girls. I miss them. Alex, Sarah, Donna, Darlene, Eva, Shannon and Therese. Again, how blessed am I for all of them?! Love you girls.

Looks like the snow is finally letting up. Now it's time to dig out. OY! Tomorrow is another day. Time to get back to work and count down the days until spring. How may is it?
Stop in and say hello when you get a chance. The light is always on (along with the heat!) I know because I pay the bill! OY!
See ya all soon!!!

CcccccccOLD!!!!!!!

Turn up the heat! This is crazy. You can't get anything done in weather like this. Just try to keep warm. I left my laptop in my car for a few hours, and when I turned it on I thought it was going to blow up! It made sounds I never heard before, Oy! (hello geek squad, Ive frozen my laptop!?)
Anyway, hope you all are finding a way to stay warm. How many days until spring training?

Not much happening at the club. Just the usual, fix what breaks, clean up a little, fix what breaks next, clean up, ect...... I love when I meet new people and they find out what I do for a living and say "that must be so exciting!" I think to myself, "the grass is always greener" theory, I don't say it, but I think it. I guess this is true of most professions. So, I'll keep plugging away, and with the help of my Dad, Jeff and Josh I think we will get everything fixed and ready to start playing Golf soon. (I said SOON!!!)(hear that mother nature?!) Sorry, I'm getting a little cranky this winter.

A couple of members have stopped in to say hello, check in, and enjoy a post holiday cocktail. I really enjoy that. Thanks guys! I promise next time we will have the parking lot plowed, we had a little transmission problem with the pickup truck this week. Of course when we get 12 inches of snow!!! When else should it break down? in the summer? NAH!! Oh well!

Ok, I need some more coffee. I will continue to post until spring arrives (and after). How may days until spring? Let me know! Stay warm! Think warm thoughts!!
HAWAII, HAWAII, HAWAII!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Welcome 2009! It's so hard to type 2009, like dating a check, 20..... or in my case 19......
I'm such a dinosaur!! Hope you all enjoyed your holidays. I managed to get away and visit with some friends for the New Year. We went to Buffalo to stay with friends I have known them for more than 20 years, OY! I'm old! Only I would go somewhere colder than Cleveland to celebrate the New Year. Oh well, that's me!!! We had a great time, relaxed and just enjoyed. Thank you Kim and Marc and Mahoney!!! Love you guys!!! I even managed to get some golf in!! That Wii machine is something else. According to it, I beat Tiger Woods at Firestone C.C. (talk about a fix!!!) A girl can dream!!
Back at home, Jeff and Josh have been working in the cold, trying to get caught up on details that have been bothering them. They see things that you might notice, but these things drive them nuts!! This is one of MANY reasons I am so proud of them!! Thank you Jeff and Josh, you guy's ROCK!!! (This is why you work off the many cookies and candy that have appeared at the club house!)
Between their hard work, Jeff and Josh have been able to get away and indulge in one of their passions, Hunting. Dad and I like to sit and listen to their hunting experiences. Seems like a lot of work too me, but they seem too enjoy. Josh got a 9 point buck last week, I thought that seemed big, but he seemed to yearn for more. What do I know? Go for it Josh!!!! I hope you get a 24 point!! (a girl can hope!) (so can a guy!)

Anyway, How many days until spring training? Please tell me, only a few!!! Lie if you have too!!!

Keep warm, think spring, keep the faith!! Love you all!! See you soon!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ECT.....

Hope you all had a great Christmas!! Did you get your stocking stuffed? Or did you get a lump of coal?
Things were good here. A few of the members stopped in to say hello and par-take in a x-mas cocktail. We reminisced about the good old times and the good times too come! Thank you guys, Love you!!
Hope you are all as lucky to have Friends and family like we have here. For this I am truly grateful!

But, hold on Deb! Not that easy! I came in Friday to find the furnace was not working correctly, the blower was blowing out cold air, and the temp in the club house was 45 degrees! OY! So, I call Jeff, "JEFF, what do you know about the NEW A/C-HEAT UNIT?
He was on his way in and suggested I shut of the main breaker on the unit on the roof.
OK, so I go out on the roof....... SOLID SHEET OF ICE!! .... This is not the way I want to get our name in the Newspaper. (Golfmama falls off roof!) Not good!!!
Anyway, among other malfunctions of the day, Jeff, Dad, Hambone and myself got everything fixed. I swear those three guys can fix anything! Maybe they should go give Obama a helping hand. Thank you guys!!!

Today looks promising. I do believe we might get some golfers out. Looks like I better get my self ready, and get into work. Hope to see you all soon.

How many days until spring training?????

.May every wish you've every spoken.....come true....... this is my prayer for you!

Happy New year everyone!!!

ONLY TEN MORE DAYS......

Shopping days that is, until Christmas. Are you done with your list? I am! Finally. Wasn't easy, but it's done. It seems like every year it gets more difficult to find that perfect gift.
Here's and Idea Deb, St. Bernard Gift certificates!! DUH!!! What was I thinking?!
Excuse the obvious sales pitch, but it is a good Idea. Why not give the gift of golf. We have many options you can choose from. Certificates for golf, pro shop food and beverage of any denomination. Just a thought, hope it helps. (just call me Mama Santa!)

Anyway, what about this weather? 50 degrees one day, and 30 the next! Make up our minds!
Some of the guys planned on playing Sunday, but the rain just would not hold off. Oh well. We gave it a shot. At least the snow is gone. Maybe we will luck out and get a couple of warm days so we can get out and knock the cob webs off our swings. A girl can hope you know!

Not much else happening here. Dad, Jeff, Josh and I are here getting ready for the spring. (how may days?) Way too many Deb. It's not even officially winter yet. Oy! I guess we should just relax and enjoy the holiday season. Lots of friends and family to enjoy, lots of cookies and candies to eat! Sounds like a plan.
Hope you all are doing the same. Enjoy!! Think Spring!

REMEMBRANCE.......

Pearl Harbor day. Always a day of remembrance for me, but lately has taken on a new significance. With all that is going on in the world today, it makes it more difficult for all of us to stop and reflect on what this country has had to endure to get where we are.
Yes, times are difficult now, but we can not forget what we once were. And hopefully will get back too.

I know, I know, get off your soap box Deb!! But I truly believe in this country, and I know that alot of you out there will agree!! So for this, I give thanks! To all the Veterans and their family's, and the current Armed forces and their family's, Thank you! Go team USA!!!

Back to St. Bernard (another USA made product)(sorry, had to throw that in there!)
We had our annual 5-5-5 league banquet last night. Good time all around. Linda and Alex had the club house looking like the North Pole. Santa himself could not have done a better job. Thanks girls, Love you!!!! Not to mention the food was (as usual) Fantastic!!!!!
We played cards, watched football, and just enjoy the friendships that come with belonging to a club like St. Bernard. Again, for this I give thanks.
Now it's time to start getting ready for Christmas. OY!!! What's a girl to do? (don't answer that!)
Dad, Jeff, Josh and I will still be at the club getting ready for spring. It will be here before you know it!!! How may days until spring training?

Hope you can stop in and say hello.
Love you all.....

By the way, the photo is of my love "Kona"! Holiday greetings from Hawaii......

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Oops! I mean Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Although it seems like Christmas when you look out the window!! Is it just me, or did we get more snow than usual at this time of year?
Jeff didn't even get a chance to put away some of the course equipment. And I didn't get a chance to clean up the flower beds. What mess I'm going to have in the spring. Oh well, deal with it Deb! Time for me to start cleaning up the club house, kitchen ect... By the looks of the weather, I will have plenty of time to get the job done. Jeff and Josh have a good head start on maintaining the equipment. Not a easy task, its cold down in that shop. You rock guys!!! Keep up the good work.
Wally stopped in last week, him and I and Jeff sat down and worked out the Club events schedule for next year. We had a good pow wow meeting, and work up some nice surprises for you all next year. I can't wait!! Is it spring yet?!!!
It will be here before you know it. Hang in there everyone!
Hope you all enjoy your family and friends over the holiday season. Don't eat to much.
Hope you can stop by and say hello, and maybe enjoy a holiday cocktail. Bring your sleigh!!!

WHAT HAPPENED?!

From golf on Friday, to shoveling snow on Monday. I knew I hated Mondays for a reason!
It was nice while it lasted though. A few of you got a couple more rounds in last week. It was nice to see your smiling faces. It gets lonely here this time of year. Even though we have plenty to keep us busy, it's not the same without seeing the members pop in and say hello, and maybe have a cocktail or two. Jeff and Josh are here all winter getting the equipment ready for next year (not a easy task), but they manage to get it done. They have lot's of other little projects they want to get done, one at a time guys!! In between the projects, we take a break and discuss the upcoming/already played games. Talk about highs and lows. One day its "Go Browns" the next it's "there is always next year" OY!
The Buckeyes look good. (I need something to root for!)

It's snowing here again. In a way it's pretty, looking out the window at the course with the snow coming down beats any corner office view Ive ever seen. Once in a while you see some deer run down the fairway(and over the green, Ouch!) and back through the course. It's a nice sight!
Don't you feel sorry for me yet! Ha!

Anyway, not much else to report for now. I will keep posting all winter long, counting down the days until the CHILI OPEN 2009! (How many days?) Figure it out and let me know!!
Happy Turkey Day everyone!! (Only one piece of pie!!!) See ya!

NOVEMBER?

It feels more like May. Do you believe this weather?! What a bonus. Every little bit helps!
Now that the election is over, I think we all could use some time on the links. I know I could!
I can't think of any better way to unwind and clear my mind than going out and walking 18 and enjoy the beautiful view. Jeff and the crew are still at it, clearing the leaves and getting the course ready for the winter. It looks great Jeff!! You rock! Linda has been in the last couple of days to wrap things up in the kitchen, and has made a big batch of her famous Chili. YUM!!
This is nice to have on hand over the winter for those days when we are not so smart, and head out for 18 holes in 40 degree weather. No, not us!! What's a girl to do?!
The Prime Timers are starting to roll in now. Another group of diehards. They will play until the S$#% flies. You rock guys!!
Time for me to get to work. Then hopefully get out and chase that little white ball. Hope you can do the same! See ya soon!!
Brady, Brady, Brady!!!!!

IS IT APRIL YET?

The last club event at St. B was a success. The Scramble/Pig roast was a blast! The weather was a little cool, but the pig was hot. My Uncle Harry and Tom worked their magic again without effort. Thanks guys, Love ya! Linda, Alex and Sarah made sure everyone had enough to eat and drink, and again, had the clubhouse looking great. Thank you girls, You rock! Hope you relax over the winter and come back in the spring ready to roll. It's that time of year again when we work with a minimum crew. Back to work Deb!! Of course Jeff and Josh will still be here keeping up on the course. You never know when we will get a couple of nice days and the golfers will be beating down the door to get some golf in. (a girl can hope you know!)
I would like to thank all of you the members, for your continued support of your club. Without you we would not be here. It has been a year of highs and lows, for all of us I think.
Tough economic times have put a burden on all of us, but we will keep plugging away and try to make your membership here at St. Bernard one of your best recreational investments.
Thank you everyone!
This is not a sign off. Don't put those clubs away. I really believe we will still get some golf in.
I'll be here waiting for ya! The 19th hole is always open! Hope to see you soon.

OINK OINK

Time for the Pig roast! The last club event of the year is tomorrow. We are playing a Scramble at noon, and pigging out on pig after. I can't believe the season is just about over! Although I think we are still in for some nice weather, so don't put those clubs away!! We will still be here getting ready for the 2009 golf season. So as long as there is no S#&@, play will continue, and the 19th hole will be open. Someone has to help me get rid of all the left over beer! OY!
Jeff and the crew have started their annual chase the leaves away ritual. What a job! But I'm sure they will handle it with their usual efficiency. Go get em' guys!!!
I'm sitting on the porch enjoying the view. It's nice when the sun comes out, other wise it's a bit nippy. But that didn't stop the Prime Timers. Six of them went out and enjoyed the fabulous fall foliage. You rock guys!! Keep it up!
The weekend weather looks good. Sunny and sixties! Can't beat that for October. Hope you can squeeze in another 18 holes. I know I'm going too! (go figure). Not much else to report for now.
I'll post the pictures from the pig roast over the weekend. See ya all soon!

LITTLE FROSTY!

Just right for a Clambake! It just so happens we are having our Annual Clambake today! Go figure! Love it when things work out that way. I still can't believe the season is almost over. One more event (the pig roast) and its done. Hopefully some of you will still continue to play some fall golf. It's a great time of year, and maybe we will even get a Indian Summer! A girl can hope.
I know I will continue to play. I think I finally got my game back. I was sweating it out there for awhile. I'm sure my team today will be happy to here this.
The course is back to it's usual wonderful conditions thanks to Jeff and his crew. They worked hard all season as usual, and over came some malfunctions and mishaps that made their jobs even harder. Thanks guys, YOU ROCK!
Linda and the girls are at it again decorating the club house for the season. It looks like the Munsters and the Addams family had a reunion here!! You rang sir!! Keep up the good work girls!!!
Not much else to report right now. I need to get back to work. Have to get some things together for the Reverse Raffle.
Enjoy your day. See ya soon

SWEET SEPTEMBER!

What great weather for golf! It has been perfect. I think. A little chill in the morning, then warming up in the afternoon. The only thing that would make it better would be for me to get rid of the S#@%&$!!!! Oy, I don't know what I'm Doing!? HELP!
Anyway, yesterday was one of the last few events at St. B. Hard to believe the year is almost done. Soon Jeff will begin his annual dance with the leaves. Don't worry Jeff, just think of all the trees we lost it the storm. That many less leaves! Silver lining to everything right? So they say.
Quite a few early bird golfers this morning. YEA!! The 5-5-5 are starting at 9:00 for the rest of the year. That means I get a extra hour of sleep!! YEA! Speaking of the 5-5-5, they are rolling in, Linda has the bacon going and it's time to get to work. Then, out to try and hit the ball straight. Wish me luck! Hope to see you soon.
P.S. Don't forget the Clambake is October 4th. Call the club for more info.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FINALIZED.

As you can see by the pictures posted, Golfmama failed to place in the championship. My birthday gift was one of those gifts that keeps on giving! Ouch! Oh well, what can a girl do? Wait till next year and come out fighting! Congratulations to the winners. Mike Kerns won low gross for the men's Division, and Laurie Johnson won low gross for the ladies division.
Bob Ceisla won low net men's, and Karen Fontana won the Ladies low net. Way to go guys!!
Thank you to all who participated.
The weather was perfect. Much better than the previous weekend. Thank heavens!

Jeff and the crew have most of the storm damage picked up. We still have a few big trees down that need to be cut up, but otherwise the course is back to it's wonderful conditions.
Thank you Jeff!!
He could really use a break, but now it's time to start aerifying the greens. OY! It's a big job, but needs to be done. Let me know when you need my help Jeff! Thank you Joe Tee for all of your help, member/friends like you help make St. Bernard one of the best clubs around.

I hate to say it, but the season is winding down. Only a couple more club events are scheduled.
(I heard that sigh of relief Linda!) She loves these events, but they are a lot of work. Thank you Linda, Alex, Sarah, Donna, Darlene, Eva, Shannon and Therese. You girls rock!!

The next event is a Scramble on Saturday September 27th. After that is the Clambake on October 4th, then the Pig Roast, October 18th. Hope you can join in on the fun.

The week ahead looks perfect weather wise. Hope you can get out and enjoy.
(no reason to stay in and watch football!) OY! Don't go there Deb! See you soon!

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

What a difference a week makes! Last weekend we were watching it continue to rain all day, night, morning.... and wondering if we could get the tournament in. But you could not ask for better weather this weekend. The first round of the championship is over, and today looks like another great one. We have some good golfers participating, it should be close. The women's division is giving me a run for my money! My friend Laurie came back up from Columbus to try and collect some Fike dollars. She has a chance!! Jennifer was in our group yesterday. I never golfed with her before, so I had no idea how good she is. Her ball just laughed and waved goodbye at mine after each drive!!! Keep up the good work Jen! Sue, Phyllis, Karen and Diane are also playing strong. You Rock girls!! So, Laurie stayed at my house last night, we sat up and drank wine and had a bull session. I think she was trying to get me a little foggy this morning. (it worked!!) OY!
So, I am now another year older! Guess what I got for my Birthday yesterday?! The SHANKS! Thank you very much!!!
Ok Deb, quit complaining and get back to work. It's time to open up and start another day. Hope to see your smiling faces soon. Have a great day!!

BLOW ME DOWN!!

What a mess! Amazing what a little wind can do! (a little?!) Oy! I'm sure all of you had some damage to your yards as a result of the remnants of IKE. We certainly had our share here at the club. Check out the slide show for pictures of some of the damage. Poor Jeff!!! He was supposed to play in a golf outing yesterday, but after surveying the damage, he decided he could not leave his crew with the mess. I'm sorry Jeff! But with the help of some Friends, Jeff, Josh my Dad and the rest of the crew, the course is back to playable. (thanks Joe Tee!) We still have a lot of clean up to do, but I'm sure we will back to our normal wonderful conditions soon.

The club championship was rained out over the weekend. Go figure! But we decided to reschedule for this weekend. Actually this might be for the better. Quite a few people could not participate because of other commitments, and most who signed up are able to play this weekend. Although, my rival Laurie may not be able to come back up from Columbus. Bummer!!
Come on girlfriend, Fike dollars are waiting to be had!!!

The week ahead looks great weather wise. Hope you can get out and enjoy the wonderful month of September. It's a great time of year for golf!

Back to work. See ya soon!!

DRY UP!!!!!

I didn't walk into work this morning, I wadded in. What a Friday!! I think were caught up on rain now. But it looks like we are getting more. OY! The poor Friday couples league were rained out again! And of course, last night was steak for dinner. Poor John had to grill steaks dodging rain and lighting! Sorry John! You are a trooper. Love ya!
We have the Club Championship this weekend, I don't know if were going to get it in. I guess I'll just have to wait and see who shows up, and wait for Jeff to get in and check on the condition of the course and go from there. HELP! I guess if we can't play golf today, we could always play cards. That's it Deb, no money coming in, so why not lose some more! Oh well. We have to do something to pass the time away since we have two late football games this weekend. I hate that. Golfmama just can't stay up that late anymore. (never could!) What do you think, can the Buckeyes get by without Beanie? Can the Browns give Pittsburgh some competition?
(Shut up P.A.!!)
Alright, time for me to put on the radar and see where were at. Wish me luck! Hope you all have a great weekend. See you next week.

MISTY MORNING

Sounds like a song. They say the sun is supposed to come out this afternoon. Hope their right!
The 5-5-5 are pacing around this morning, "Hey Deb" whats the radar say? It don't say S#$@!
Just get out there and dodge the rain drops. Won't be the first time, nor the last I'm sure.
It was kind of a slow week. I guess everyone was pooped out from the holiday weekend. Hope everyone had a good one. We had fun here.
Football season has begun! YEAH!! Love this time of year. Golf in the morning, beer and football at the 19th hole in the afternoon. What more a girl ask for? (don't answer that).
My friends from Buffalo are coming in this afternoon and spending the night, then heading back in the morning. Should be a good day for me.
So, I was sitting here yesterday afternoon, when a stranger came walking in and said hello. Turns out it's a Friend of mine who I have not seen in 12 years! Therese! I've known her all of my life. So we sat here and talked for hours. What a blast! Anyway, turns out she could use some extra spending cash (like all of us!) So guess what?, I put her to work. She is going to fill in my Saturday morning shift for the rest of the year. Thank heavens, otherwise Golfmama was going to have to cook breakfast for the rest of the year! OY!! Scary thought!
It's still misting here, 3 of the 5-5-5 went out, and the others are sitting here waiting and solving the worlds problems. Oy! Quite a few more golfers are coming in. Yeah! Looks like a good day.
Have a great weekend everyone. See ya soon!

A.Y.R.F.S.F ??????

Here we go!! Jeff's 1st annual NFL Scramble is starting now!! Wish us luck! Check back in tomorrow for some photos and results. Have a great holiday weekend!!!

Good Morning! And what a nice morning it is. I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of this golf club. Yesterday was a blast!! Between the members, staff and crew, the day was a success. Linda, Sarah, Eva and Alex had the club house looking better than any tailgate party I've ever seen. Jeff and his crew worked for months to put this tournament together. It showed in every detail. Josh has to be tired today! Jeff's daughters Brie and Alex drove the beer cart for us. Thanks girls, those beers tasted mighty good! I can't put into words all the little details that made the tournament such a success. But you can see it for yourself. Just click on the new addition to the blog, "slide show", and judge for yourself. We can't wait for next year! Although we are already thinking, why not a NASCAR event, or Baseball or..... who knows. OY! I'm tired just thinking about it. But it's a good tired.

Jeff, I am so proud of you. Remember when you first came to St. B, and you said "Ron/Deb, you will not regret hiring me". Well, we never have. I look forward to many more year's working together to make St. Bernard the best Golf Club around! Thanks again!

Hope you all have a great Holiday weekend. Don't eat or drink to much. Enjoy your friends and family. GO BUCKEYES!!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!

Kind of a crazy week. But the good news is, it's business! We had a couple of outings today. Two good groups. Avtron manufacturing this morning. 48 golfers. What a good group. They have been here for more than 18 years. I guess they like us. (what's not to like?) Thank you Avtron! Then a small group just went out at 2:00. The Fierle group. Also a great group, they have 3 or 4 small outings a year. Thank you Nancy and Robb! This and the continued support of you the members, help ensure the continued success of St. Bernard Golf Club. For this I am sincerely grateful! It's hard to believe next weekend is labor day weekend. It seems like the season just started! It should be a good weekend. We have Jeff's 1st annual NFL Scramble on Saturday. Hope you can participate. Jeff is working very hard on making this a tournament to remember! Lot's of surprises in store for us. I can't wait!! You ROCK Jeff!! It will be a long weekend for me. My friends from Buffalo are coming in to stay with me. And they are bringing the dog Mohoney! I can't wait. It's so nice to have a dog in the house! I might need to ask Kimmer to come into work with me and help out. I know she will if I ask. One of my girls had to quit on me. Liz got a teaching job, and can't work for us anymore. OY!! Talk about bad timing! Oh well, roll with it Deb! The rest of the crew have been great about pitching in and helping cover. Josh helped me this morning, along with Bill, Thanks Guys!! Linda, Alex, Sarah and the rest of the girls have been great! I love you girls!! You make me look good!!(not a easy task!)
The First outing is starting to come in, time for me to get back to work. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend. Hope to see you soon. GO BROWNS!!!!!!

FINE FRIDAY MORNING!

Looks like a fine rest of the day also. Finally, the Friday night couples should have a perfect evening. Poor things have dodged rain often this year. But their troopers, they still show and hope for the best. Keep up the good work couples! The "Prime Timers" are out this morning. Nice size group today. Thanks guys! Well, this is the big weekend. The Annual Ben Kramer memorial! Two days of golf, food, fun and friends. A lot of good competition out there this year.
(as always!) I need to get out today and practice a little (alot!!!) But as they say "it all comes down to those putts dropping". So true...... So you think I would focus on that?! No not me, just swing harder Deb! One of these days I'll learn. Jeff and the crew have the course in great condition (again!) and it should be a good couple of days of competition!
The next event is Jeff's 1st annual NFL golf scramble. August 30th. He has lots of surprises in store for us. Hope you can participate. Sign up sheet is in the clubhouse.
Not much else to report. I'll let you know Monday the results from the weekend. Hope you can get out and hit the links! See ya soon!!!

FOOTBALL WEATHER!

I love it!!! A little nip in the air this morning, but it helps wake me up. I needed it this morning, we had an outing yesterday, and it kept me running most of the day. But it was a good day. The weather was perfect and all went well. The course was beautiful (again) GO JEFF!!, and Alex and Shannon made sure things ran smooth in the Clubhouse(again) GO GIRLS!!! This combo made it possible for me to golf in the outing. My friend Debbie asked me to be on her team, along with our friends Roger and Randy. We didn't win anything, but we had fun. Thanks guys!! (even though I lost some $$$$ on the side bet) Oh well, what's a girl to do? I'll just have to try to win some back today. We are having our annual 3 club scramble today. 3 clubs, and one has to be your putter. Takes some thinking, but it can be done. Should be a fun day! Next weekend is the Ben Kramer Memorial. That's always a fun weekend. Three person scramble, pick you own team, minimum handicap of 45 between the three. A lot of side bets, and a lot of comical banter goes on. Most of which is amid at me!! Hey deb.................(you fill in the blank) Oh well!
Keep August 30th open. Jeff is starting a new club event. The first annual NFL scramble. Golf, food, beer and lots of prizes. What more can you ask for! Sounds like fun to me. Check out the info in the clubhouse, or just ask Jeff, he will be happy to tell you all about it. Right Jeff?!
Ok, lots of people rolling in. Back to work. Have a great Sunday. See you soon!

NEW MOON!!!

Feels like a full moon around here!! One of those days, Again! Poor Jeff has had his share of malfunctions and mishaps. I feel for you Jeff, hang in there! On the up side, the weather is perfect and we have a couple of outings coming up in the next couple of weeks. The course is in beautiful condition, Again! We even managed to get some tree trimming done. I can here you all cheering!! We knew what had to be done, but time and weather conditions were not conducive for the project. But we have started and will keep at it. At least Jeff and his crew will. I'll do what I can to help Jeff, just holler!!! I'm sitting on the porch writing this post, quite a few new faces are rolling in. Lots of people trying the course. This is good. Hope they like it. Whats not to like?! I can' believe its August already. Where did the summer go? Football starts soon! YEAH! I love that time of year! And, we even have a big screen TV in the clubhouse now!! Thanks to my Dad. He bought himself a new TV for home and donated this one to the club. Way to go Dad!! Isn't it time for a new car? Yea, right Deb!! Good try!
I think maybe I will go out and swing the clubs a little. Have to start getting ready for the Kramer Memorial. Aug 16th & 17th. It will be here before you know it!! Get your team together! Not much else going on. Talk with you after the weekend. Hope to see you soon!!

FOGGY SUNDAY MORNING.

I swear we have our own little weather pattern in this valley! It always amazes me that at the top of 303 hill it can be sunny and bright, then you come down the hill and it's 5 degrees cooler and foggy! Oh well, deal with it Deb. Not much to report from here. Kind of quite all week. I think everyone is on vacation. The good part is it gave me time to catch up with some of my girlfriends. I need that girl time you know!!! Although I got some bad news from my friend Andrea, Aka Mama2. We found out her poor puppy Sydney has cancer and we only have a couple of more months with her. (Sucks out loud!!) I feel so helpless, and I know what she is going through. Soon she will be going to see Michelob, and the two can have their own girl time! I find comfort in this. I don't mean to be a bummer. I just wanted to vent and pay a tribute to our girl. Thanks for listening. Back to work. The 5-5-5 are rolling in. Time to put on the bacon.
Have a great week. See you soon!!!

SUNDAY!!!!

What is it about Sunday mornings? They just seem to exude happiness. At least for me! I think because my Sundays are like Fridays are for normal people. The morning started out a little rainy, but it looks to be a good day. We have another outing today, Musketeers are having their annual outing this morning. They are a good group, they have a lot of fun. Jeff's out running this morning (again) trying to get everything ready. Eva and I are feeding the 5-5-5 and trying to get them started. If they would quit trying to solve the worlds problems and start swinging the club, things will get rolling. Some things never change!!! Thank goodness!! The rest of the week looks to be fairly quite. Not much scheduled, just the regular leagues. Thank you to all the leagues for your continued support. I think I need to get out this week and practice. I don't know what happened to my game, but it sure needs some work. Maybe I can pick up a few tips watching the British Open this morning. I doubt it, but you never know, I might pick something up subliminally!!! That's me, learn something new everyday, and don't even know it!!! Alright, we got the 5-5-5 started. Time for me to get my butt moving. Hope you all have a great week. Make room for golf!!!

A FINE FRIDAY MORNING!

What a nice morning. The sun is out, no rain and a couple a early birds are already done with nine holes this morning. You go guys!!! As you can see, my picture is not on the blog among the winners of the Firecracker open. Oh well!! I stunk (sorry Mike), plus we didn't even beat my arch-nemesis Lori!! OY! Double whammy. I just remembered now I owe her a couple of Fike dollars, sorry I forgot Lori. I think I just blocked it out!! I guess you will just have to come back up to collect! Despite mother nature's best efforts, the course looks beautiful as usual. Poor Jeff and the crew have working in between storms to try and clean up down limbs, and keep up on the daily chores. Keep up the good work guys, You rock!! The weather looks good for the next week, hope you can get out and enjoy. I know alot of you are busy this time of year with weddings, graduations ect... but try and find time to squeeze in a round. Remember, it's July already, and you know what follows that! Say it's not so!! Have a great weekend. See you soon!!

HAPPY 4TH OF..... JULY?

It feels more like October 4th! Oh well, at least it's not raining! (don't say the "R" word Deb!!) I will keep this post short because I need to get ready for the Firecracker Open. I need to practice my putting, I seem to be lacking in that department. My friend Laurie is up from Columbus to play in the tournament, she always offers up a good competition. Not to mention the rest of the teams signed up. I have my work cut out for me today!! But, I have a strong partner, Mike Mann. I think we have a good chance to bring home a victory. Wish me luck! I hope you all have a great holiday weekend. Enjoy your family and friends at those picnics. (watch out for Yogi and boobo lookin' for your picnic baskets.) Don't eat to much, and if you do, you will just have to get out here and walk it off!! See you soon!!

GET OUT THE ARK!!

What's with all the rain?! I know we need the rain, but not in buckets. These storms are something else. I think were going to be alright for the scramble this morning. The radar looks like the storms went north and south of Richfield. The forecast looks good for the upcoming holiday. Thank heavens. We have our annual Firecracker open on Friday, and I know alot of you have many holiday parties planned. Let's hope for a great weekend. 4th of July already! OY! We plan and work hard all winter just waiting for the first nice day to get out and hit the links, then we turn around and it's all a blur, were did summer go? Oh well, just sit back and enjoy Deb.
I can't prove it, but I think Jeff's going out there and planting weeds! I think he's trying to get my back out of wack so he can knock me out of the Firecracker. Nice try Jeff, but Golfmama's stronger than she looks! Not much else to report for now. Shannon should be rolling in any time now. Soon the smell of bacon will hoover over Richfield and all will be right. Time to get to work.
Have a great weekend everyone!

SUPER SATURDAY!!!

What a great tournament!! The Ted Kruse memorial was a great success! The weather cooperated for most of the day. We got the golf in without the rain, but later at dinner time the skies opened up and things got tough. Poor Zupanc had to flip steaks between lighting bolts. OY!
I think everyone had a good time. I know I did. Even managed to win a little money. Thanks to my team. Thank you Ken, Pa and Don. Love you guys!!! Thanks to Linda, Alex, Shannon and Sarah. With out them here to make sure everything went smoothly, I would not have been able to golf in the tournament. You rock girls!!! Today we have the Friday night couples. (but it's Sunday?!) Just trying to confuse me. Twice a year they have a Sunday special. They have a good time. Bloody marys, golf and lunch after. Don't get any better than that. Thank you couples! I have had numerous comments on how great the course is. And I agree!! Way to go Jeff, Josh, Auggie, Matt, Don, Bobby, Dave, Grant and Rich. Keep up the good work.
We have another new addition to our Club house staff. Sarah(Linda's daughter in law) has come to work with us. You can tell she is related to Linda, she is smart as a whip. Don't have to tell her anything twice. Welcome Sarah. Hope you stay with us a long time! Alright, the 5-5-5 is starting to roll in. Time to get back to work. Hope you have a great Sunday and a good week!! See you soon!

WHAT MONTH IS IT?

Should I pull out my Browns/Ohio State gear?! Did I sleep through June? Wacky weather! Oh well. The Pa John B-day bash was a success. Great weather, great golf, good food, good friends. What else can a girl ask for?
We have another busy week here. Four outings, a luncheon and the usual everyday stuff. Poor Linda doesn't know where to start. Me either for that matter. But I'm sure she will handle everything with her usual efficiency! Jeff and his crew are hard at work again maintaining the already terrific course conditions. Rock on guys!!! The Casual tees are having their annual Rally for the cure this Thursday. It's a great day of golf for a great cause. Thanks Ladies, your all terrific. Also the Monday night teezers are hosting their annual guest day dinner this coming Monday. This is a great way to introduce some new faces to St.B. Thank you ladies, I appreciate your support! Saturday is the 7th annual Ted Kruse Memorial. This event is hosted by the family and Friends of a long time member, Ted Kruse aka "the general". I knew Ted well, he always had a smile on his face and loved to play golf!! His son Ron and his friends and family host a wonderful outing. Golf, Lunch/Dinner, and lots of door prizes. Ted would be proud! Tomorrow is the Richfield Chamber of commerce outing. Always a good event. So I think this shall keep me busy for awhile. Keep me out of trouble, you think? HA! Back to work! Wish me luck! Have a great day everyone!

THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM!

But who wants a worm!? I want sleep. Maybe one day bags under the eyes will be fashionable. I'm so ahead of my time. Ok, I'm done! Well we got through the outing Sunday without a hitch.(sort of). Jeff and his crew, and some volunteers(thanks Joe Tee,thanks Don) did a great job getting all of the golfers where they needed to be, Linda and the girls had everything under control inside(as usual), the course was perfect, and the weather cooperated. All in all a good day!! Now if we can duplicate that for the next six outings, all will be good. The poor Friday night couples got rained out again last night. But they still had a enjoyable evening. Good food, good friends, that's all you need. It's raining here again! The 5-5-5 are going to have to dodge a few rain drops. Not the first time! Nor the last I'm sure. No golf for Golfmama this morning. Too much too do this morning. Have too get ready for the 7th annual Pa John birthday bash tomorrow. Looks like it's going to be a good day. (always is) Alright, speaking of work. Time for me to get too it!! Have a great weekend everyone. See you soon!!

HELP!!!

Well the good news is I have 120 people for a outing today, Euclid chemical. Myself and all the staff have been working hard all week to get things ready. We thought we had all the details worked out, the weather looks like it will cooperate and the course is perfect. (way too go Jeff!)NOT SO FAST DEB! Linda calls me last night to inform me that the refrigerator is not working! OY!! Linda and Alex moved everything into the walk in cooler. But now we can't walk in the walk in. I guess I must have been a bad girl at some point. Oh well Deb, Chin Up!! Time to shake it off and come out fighting. Hope your weekend is going well. Hope to see you this week.
Back to work!!!!!

SENSATIONAL SUNDAY!!

What a perfect Sunday! Even though the winters are tough around here, you still can't beat a perfect spring/summer day in Ohio! Add a great golf round, with great friends and the 19th hole, it's a grand slam!! (if only the Tribe could do the same!) The course was perfect today. Thank you Jeff and staff!! You all rock!! We played a new game today. Scramble until the green. Play a regular scramble until you reach the green, then everyone putts their own ball out from there, and you get your handicap. Best two scores are counted. It was something different, and the response was good. Thank you everyone for your support, and keep up the suggestions.
Today's format was suggested by Dick Corlett. Thank you Dick, you always have great suggestions, a positive attitude and always a gentleman!! The week ahead looks good. Hope to see all of your smiling faces this week. It's June already, so don't let the summer sneak by you all. Before you know it we will be cheering on the Browns instead of the Indians! Until then, keep on golf'in!!!! Love ya all!!!

GREAT START!

I couldn't ask for a better start to a holiday weekend than this. Well I could, but I won't! We did have a little frost this morning, but it only lasted about 30 minutes. I never know about 3 day weekends. It seems like one day is totally crazy and the other two are just so so. But this morning was a nice steady pace. (The day's not over Deb!) I even got out this morning with the 5-5-5. Shannon said she would be fine on her own, so I took it and ran!! I think she just wanted to get rid of me! That's OK! I totally understand. The course is in beautiful shape!! The greens are fast and true, fairways are plush and green, and it looks like Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross had a little party out there. Old glory is flying all over the place. You rock Jeff!!!! I've said it before, holiday weekends for us are about hopefully filling the course with lots of happy golfers, and having a few cocktails at the 19th hole. But for me it's also about remembering all of our men and women, past and current, who serve in our armed forces. Given the hard times we are all going through right now, I think this is more true than ever. I hope you all have a great holiday weekend with your family and friends. Eat, Drink and be merry. (have one for me!) And don't forget to take a moment and reflect on what makes this country still the best!!! Love you all! Go team USA!!

Rib Ticklin' Good!!!

We dodged another bullet! We got the Rib Roast-Scramble in. It didn't look good for awhile, but the skies held out and let us finish our round. I heard it really came down in the Parma area. For once it missed Richfield. Thank You! We had a good turn out for both the tournament, and the dinner. Golf, lots of good food and good friends. What more can you ask for?! Linda, Alex and Shannon handled the dinner with their usual expertise. John Z did his magic with the grill despite the threat of storms brewing. Poor guy has stood in the rain numerous times flipping steaks and ribs. Thanks John!! Maria helped me with the Reverse Raffle again. She's a big help. Thanks Girlfriend!! Alright, I'll finish this later. The 555 is yelling at me, I gotta play!! I'll be back! Ok, I'm back. A day later, but I'm back. We got 18 in, and the weather predicted that at 2:00 the sun was coming out. Boy were they wrong!! It Hailed here!! Yes, Hailed! 18 green looked like it snowed! What next? Don't say it Deb! Unreal. Anyway, the long range forecast looks good. Close to 80 by Sunday. Bring it on!!!! We are ALL ready for it. We have some outings coming up soon, and that will keep us busy for awhile. I guess I should enjoy the slow time now. Soon I will be complaining how tired we all are. Oh well, poor me! Life is good!! Keep on smiling. See you all soon!!!

IS IT SATURDAY YET?

What a week!! I spent most of it home sick. I think I slept for a year. Just call me Rip Van Mama!! Thing's went smooth here though. Was there ever a doubt?! Thanks everyone for covering by butt again. The weather threatened, but really didn't make an impact. Today looks promising. I think Shannon is ready to go solo this morning, (more importantly I'm going stir crazy),so I think I will play the 5-5-5. Mothers day looks good also. Hope the sun shines on all you mothers. All Moms Rock!! But mine is the BEST!! Happy mothers day Betty! Love you always!! Have a great weekend.

IF APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS?

What does May storms bring? Aside from my ulcer!? What a ugly day yesterday was! Of course it was the first day of league play for the Friday night couples. It looks like a few of them got nine in, but otherwise it was just dinner and drinks. (not so bad!) Thanks guys and gals. You Rock! I'm sitting here watching the radar (AGAIN) hoping we can somehow get in our International today. I don't know, but I'm sure going to try! I think everyone will show, at least to have breakfast and see if maybe we can dodge some rain drops. We have a hearty group of golfers here. Thank heaven's!! Shannon should be in soon, and then the smell of bacon will fill the clubhouse. That should bring em' in!! Paul Albright just showed up. That's always a good sign! One golfer down, 999 more too go!! (I wish) It can be done!!! The rain did green up the course. It was beautiful before, but its even nicer now. I'm sure Jeff can hear the grass growing. Get those mowers out Jeff!! I know you can handle it!! Time for me to get back to the radar screen and start my no rain dance. Oy! Thanks for that visual Deb! Have a great weekend!

NICE WHILE IT LASTED!!

The weather that is. It looks like we are in for another cold snap! Just when you think your out of the woods, BAM! Mother nature pulls a fast one. Maybe the weather report is wrong!? Nah, their always right. HA! I'm sitting on the porch watching it rain, and hearing the 5-5-5 out there dodging rain drops. I can hear Foutz from #4 up here. Tell em Donny!! Not a big group again. The radar scared them all away. Gotta get rid of that T.V. , or put it on the History channel.
The Friday night couples had their league kick off party last night. Good turnout. Forty nine! Linda and Alex had the clubhouse decorated beautifully as usual. They worked their butts off yesterday(as usual!) I think everyone had a good time. Shannon (another new addition to St. B) is working away helping clean up after the party. I don't know where she gets her energy. But I'm grateful to have her. Also another new addition (Chris) is working out well. Welcome Shannon and Chris. You are both a wonderful addition to an already wonderful staff. The course looks great (as usual). The trees are starting to bloom, some flowers are coming up (along with weeds! ) Get to work DEB!! My Tuesday ladies league starts soon, so I guess I'll be golfing instead of working. Hate when that Happens!! Although I could use the practice. My game has suffered from the long winter, and I need to start concentrating more. I know! Poor me! It will come around. The sun is peeking out now! Come on golfers!!! Were ready for ya!! Time to go see what we have leftover from last night. Prime rib for breakfast? Why not?! See you soon!!

SOGGY SUNDAY MORNING!

Kinda slow this morning. Only 8 of the 5-5-5. Would be 9, but golfmama had to stay in and help the new Sunday morning girl (Eva). She is catching on quick, but I still don't think she would appreciate me leaving her on her own just yet. Welcome Eva! Jeff said we got just the right amount of rain last night. That's the way it should be, sunny all day, rain at night. Is that too much to ask for? I think not!! We had our "schramble" Pizza/Beer party yesterday. The weather was perfect and we had a good turn out. The course played tough! Man the greens are fast!! We needed that rain last night to soften them up. They should be holding good today. Jeff and his crew got quite a few projects done already. We had some slag delivered, (thanks Steve)and managed to smooth out the cart paths. They really took a beating over the winter! We still have a few sticks to get picked up, but they got most of them. I think the next step will be Mulch. Oy!! What a job that is. But it's worth it, it really looks nice when it's done. We had the cart barn painted. It really looks nice. Next is the outside of the Club House. I know Jeff!, ONE THING AT A TIME DEB! Just keep on trucking Mama! Ok, back to work. See ya soon!!!

LET THE SUN SHINE IN!!!!

What a beautiful recovery from a chilly weekend! And it is supposed to get even better!! Just in time, I thought I was going to go crazy (not a far leap!). Jeff and his crew are busting their butts getting the course in great shape. It looks great already Jeff, but I know you strive for more! You Rock my friend!!! Keep up the good work. Linda and the girls have started to get back in the routine. Linda has the kitchen up and running in perfect order (as usual) so we can feed you hungry golfers. World's greatest hot dogs are back at St. B! along with other numerous favorites! Get yourself out for a round, some lunch and maybe a cocktail?! Wally and I went down to Quaker Steak and lube restaurant yesterday for our third year at their Golf show. It is a great way for us to promote St. Bernard. We get a booth, wings and a pitcher of beer just for showing up!? No brainer!!! Traffic was a little slow this year, but it's still worth getting our name out there. Every little bit helps. A few members stopped by to say hello, and help promote the club. Thanks P.A., Ken and Oscar! Our membership support is one of our greatest assets. We appreciate this more than you know. The Monday Night Teezers have started their practice rounds for the month. Soon the other leagues will follow. After that things should be back in full swing! (god willing and the creek don't rise!) Tomorrow we have our first senior open for the year. We need to find a new name for these events, because these seniors don't act like seniors, more like, seasoned golfers. What do you think? Oh well, time to get back to work. Don't forget this Saturday is our Pizza/Beer "Schramble" 10:00 shotgun start. Hope you can participate! See you all soon! XOXO

HEARTBURN CITY!!!

Too much Chili!! The Chili open was not so chili. It was a perfect day. We had 14 three person teams. A Three person scramble is a whole new game compared to four person teams. So it was no wonder why the scores were so low. Except for the Matt team that blew everyone away! -5 for nine holes is a great score. Way to go guys!!! It was nice to see some new faces join in, as well as some old favorites. (not so old!) Sorry! We had eight chili entries! Lots of chili to taste and vote on. In the end, Hermans chili was voted the best (chili #1), Ginny Petries (#4) came in a close second. Thank you to everyone who entered. A lot of people went back out and played another 18 holes. It was way too nice out not too. Jeff and his crew had the course in great shape for it being rather early in the year. Way to go Jeff! Linda, Shannon and Alex had everything running smoothly inside. (as usual!) Thanks girls. You make my life so much easier. (not a easy task) The next few days look great. But I just heard by the weekend we are going to be back in the 40's YUCK! Maybe they will be wrong AGAIN! Oh well, what can a girl do? Roll with it! I need to get out and get the flower beds cleaned up. It's a big job, but quite relaxing also. And the reward is worth the effort. First things first. Time for me to get some paper work done here, then start getting ready for the next Club Event. "Schramble" Pizza/Beer party. Hope you get out this week and get a round in. Remember, it's Masters week. A sure sign the golf season has started. See you soon!!! Go Tribe!

THING'S ARE LOOKING UP!!!

The soothing sound of the greens mower hums in the background, members are rolling in handing out hugs and kisses, and heading out to hit the links. It doesn't get any better than this!! What a charmed life I have! Sometimes I forget, but then I have days like this and I know all is right. And I think this is the start of something good!! It took a while to warm up today, but it hit 50 here. Jeff and his crew were out all week picking up sticks, cleaning the course up getting ready for what looks like a great weekend! I gotta get out a swing a club, I feel like my back is going to break the first time I swing. It's been that long. I know I'm not alone in that feeling. But Linda is coming in tomorrow to get things ready around here, so if the rain stays away for awhile I might sneak out and hit a few. (if I can find my clubs!) The Chili open looks to be not so chili. But that's OK, we will keep the beer chilly, and the chili hot! Kinda like me! HA!!! Go team Michelob!!! OK, I know I'm getting silly, the 12 hour days are catching up with me already. I need to get back in the groove here. It won't take long, things will back to normal soon. All we need is too see your smiling faces, and all will be right at St. Bernard!! Jeff and I agree that this is our year!! All will go smooth here, the Tribe will win the world series, and the Browns will win the Superbowl. Make that bet for me Roger!!! Time to sign off. See ya soon!!!

SNOWS' GONE!!!

Hallelujah!!!! I think we dodged a bullet last night. They were calling for three inches of snow last night, but it stayed all rain. I just talked with Karen Kellogg in Buffalo, I guess they got our snow, five inches. Good, keep it over there. Sorry K K! We managed to get some play the last couple of days. A couple of diehards braved the soggy conditions, but came out unscathed. You guys rock!! Hey now!! The 5-5-5 are talking about playing Sunday. The weather looks promising. 50 degrees! I hope this is the start of something big. I'm ready!! (sort of!) I still have lots of details to work out. I just can't seem to get going. I guess I'll just have to roll with the punches. "Hit with your best shot!" (have you got that one Wally?) The Monday night teezers have their meeting here this Monday. I'm sure they are ready to get started. What a great group!! You rock girls!! Wally and I are going to the golf show at Quaker Steak and Lube in Valley view. This will be our third year. It's a great way to get St. B some exposure. It's free, and they give us a Bucket of wings and a pitcher of beer!! No brainer!!! The show is April 14th this year. Hope you can stop by and say hello. First things first. THE CHILI OPEN! Sunday April 6th. The long range forecast looks good. Hope you all can participate. Time for me to roll up my sleeves and darn those lovely yellow gloves, and get this place cleaned up. Just call me Mama Hazel!! See ya!

GOOD FRIDAY

Very quite good Friday here. It doesn't feel like good Friday because usually we have golfers here around Easter time and I'm working. I feel lost! Believe it or not most of the snow is gone here, and we could play some golf. Not all 18, but at least nine. But I guess that is going to change tonight. I sure hope that the weather report is wrong. The chili open is coming up soon, April 6th, unlike the Indians, I try to schedule it so we have a chance of no snow. April in Cleveland, who knows?! While your in church, sneak in a weather prayer.(God has to be a golfer) My dad went and bought himself a new Lap top computer. Now I have the task of trying to help him get everything set up. OY! I'm trying to remember everything Wally taught me. (I never was a very good student) But so far so good. One thing at time! Linda should be coming in soon to get the kitchen set up and start making her famous Chili. It will be great the see her, and Donna, Darlene, Alex and the rest of the crew. And I can't wait to see all of your smiling faces. It seems like forever! I hope you all have a great Easter, enjoy your time with your family and friends, Dye them eggs and eat those bunny ears!!! Oh! and watch so you don't get Peter Cotton tail caught up in the snow blower!!! See ya soon!!

MELT DOWN!!!

It's almost gone!! Not quite playable yet, but getting there. I can see some green, that's a good sign! Before you know it we will be hitting the links. None too soon for me!!!!! I not sure I even know where my clubs are?! My dad probably hocked them!! Ha! The Chili open is just around the corner. I made the sign up sheet yesterday, and Jeff and Josh were the first to sign up. Two down, 70? to go!!!! Would be nice! I need to get moving in the club house, I'm still cleaning, It never ends. Of course I end up getting side tracked every now and again, either by work, or by play! Oh well, It will get done one way or another. Keep moving Deb!! St. Patrick"s day, Easter, then the Masters!!. Can't wait!!! One thing at a time, first-green beer, my favorite color, and favorite beverage. It's magically Delicious!!! The weather looks good for Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday, upper 40's to 50's. Just right for a walk with some golf clubs tagging along!! Happy St. Patty's day everyone. Play safe!!!!! (don't get tangled up with any Leprechaun,s) GO IRISH!!!!

DIGGING OUT!!!!!!

OH.......IO, More like BUFF......ALO! I can't remember ever getting this much snow all at once! It was almost scary. Will it ever stop?! I'm going to need alot more green paint!! Of course the pickup truck is still broke down. Jeff was going to try to get it fixed by today. I hope you were successful Jeff, otherwise it sure will be fun trying to get into the club house Monday!! The 19th hole will be more like the 21st hole. Need a dog sled team to get to a beer!! The weather people are calling for 50 degrees on Thursday, get the hair dryer out Deb, and start melting the snow!!!
Maybe this is it, maybe this was our last blast, and we are going to have sun for St. Pat's day, and sun for the Tribe opener!! (a girl can dream you know!) Oh yeah!! its almost 9:00 not 8:00, spring forward!!!! I almost forgot. The days are getting longer, now we can see the snow a little longer! Oy! Ok Jeff, It won't be long! It won't be long! It won't be long!! Be careful digging out everyone, don't hurt those backs or hearts! Come on sun!!!

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

ELECTION DAY!!!

Did you vote today? Don't let me down!! Very important!! I know the weather is bad, but we manage to get to other places in bad weather. (19th hole!) I went first thing this morning and got through quickly. Back to paper ballots at our booths. What's with that? I tried hard to color in that little circle and not go outside the lines. Kindergarten really paid off!! Most of the snow melted yesterday. Things are looking up! I think I jinxed Jeff. After yelling at him about the truck and the plow, the stupid thing broke down yesterday!! Sorry Jeff! Cant' go a whole week without something breaking! OY! Oh well, just fix one thing at a time, and keep on trucking!! I talked to Linda, she is ready to get back to work. Time to make the Chili!! The long range weather report looks promising. 50's soon! Come on sun!!! Don't forget, exercise your right, VOTE! Go team USA!

SEE YA FEBRUARY!!!!!!

Good riddin's!! Hello March! Spring training, St. Patrick's day, Easter, all good things. All associated with my favorite color GREEN! And this means soon we will be mowing instead of shoveling. Bring it on!!! We are ready !(well, sort of) but we will be ready soon! Right now we have to dig out from the latest winter blast. It's Jeff's fault, he keeps taking the plow off the truck, and every time it snows!!!! Go figure. JEFF- leave the plow on!!! Pa John stopped in yesterday to say hello. So we sat around and watched the snow and just shook our heads.
Get the cards out Deb!!! Too early for a beer Deb? The light at the end of tunnel is in sight. Just head towards the light Deb! 35 more days until the Chili open!!! Maybe I will get some sleep in from now till then. Coffee is ready. Have a great weekend. Think warm thoughts!

Saturday, February 23, 2008

AH, SATURDAY MORNING!

Sure wish I could sleep in, but I just can't adjust to it. In season, I would have been at work for a hour and half already. (and loving it!) because I know as soon as we get the 5-5-5 breakfast, It will be time for golfmama to hit the links!! (and hopefully make a few fike dollars!) Since I did not hit the mega millions(someone did) I need to supplement my income somehow. Snow, Snow go away, come again.....................never? Too much to ask? A girl can try! Jeff keeps saying "it won't be long Deb!" Ok Jeff, I believe you! I think I might need a girl's day out today!! Maybe some lunch and couple of beers? What do you think? I think I better wait a couple of hours before I make some phone calls or I won't have anymore girlfriends!! Well, Coffee is ready. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
To my friend: Many happy returns of the day!!!!

Mother Nature, what a tease!

Forgive me! Talk about karma? Knock wood!!! Sorry, but my word, 56 degrees Sunday- snow monday? I'm not sure what to do, shovel, bring out the tee markers? Just as well, I'm going in circles at the moment! Not responsible for my actions at the moment! Just another day in paradise! Oy!!! Things are looking up, got a few calls for golf outings. It looks like some people are seeing the light at the end of winter!!! Jeff is ready!! He has big plans for the course. Now all we have to do is find him some help(and money) to execute his idea's. Hang in there Jeff, we will get it done!!! (and beleive me , he has some great idea's) I'm there for you Jeff, so is Dad! And I believe the membership is there for you too!! One step at at time. Linda is ready to come back to work, she is missing all of you, and we are missing her!! Donna, Alex, Darlene and the rest of the staff are looking forward to seeing all of you soon. Dad and I have been blessed with a wonderful staff (aka friends), and a wonderful membership (aka friends), we look forward to a sunny and LONG golf season with our friends!!! Hope you all are making the best of the winter, remember, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!!! (sorry, I just read a book, 50 things that matter!!) Very insperational!! Life is good!!! Stay warm!!!!!

I'VE GOT THE BLUES!

Not the kraft mac and cheese kinda blues!! The white stuff kinda blues! Oh this snow!! What's a girl to do? I think I might need to jump outside and do snow angels!! Ok Deb, snap out of it!! Really though, It sure gets lonely here this time of year. No one calls, no one writes, I need some material to write about! With Wally's help, I got my laptop up and running. Just a few quirks to work out yet.(but I'm a quirky kinda a gal!) Now I can get back to working on the coming year. Jeff keeps saying this winter is going by fast, even though I don't agree at this moment, he is right. Spring will be here before we know it! I still have some cleaning to do, outings to book, leagues to schedule ect... and at some point I need to swing a golf club. I think my callaways are feeling neglected. I might need to hit a driving range. Oy! I hate those things. Something about hitting off that green mat?! I'm afraid I will break a club, or my wrist! I guess one of the reasons I am feeling blue is that this time last year I was in Hawaii!! What a difference a year makes! I was laying in a hammock with a Michelob light listening to CNN report about the record snow storm back in Cleveland. Pay backs are a B@#$%!! Oh well, here's to better days ahead! Stay warm. Think Spring!!! (p.s. spell check not working!? ignore any mistakes, Thank you!)
